Lakeland Baptism is one of my favorite things that our church does each year. We all gather at the lake as a community recognizing the decisions that people have made with their lives. It makes me think of the Bible times. I imagine tons of people gathered around the river bank rejoicing as people are dunked into the river. I picture John the Baptist with his crazy hair standing in the water, shouting for people to come, and people running with joy to be dunked. I can hear the people cheering as their loved ones rise from the water.
At the Lakeland Baptism...people come early and visit. Kids play in the water. People celebrate as their friends and family are baptized. I am already looking forward to the next one.
