On Monday at 4:26 am the alarm goes off and we head to the car. John was immediately up and he first question he asked was "Do you have the movies?" 

The kids did an amazing job with a 12 hour drive to Poncha Springs, CO. We arrived around 4:30ish and was greeted by Nana Barb, Papa, Aunt Wendi, Uncle Kurtis, Luke and Kampbell. 

Poncha Springs, CO is right outside of Salida and about 2 hours away from Colorado Springs. It is a small quiet town. Our house didn't have internet connection and barely got phone service...it was wonderful! Salida is a super cute, artsy town that is fun to shop, walk and eat in. We visited Salida the night we got into town. The kids had fun climbing on rocks and walking along the water.

There were bikes everywhere in this town. I would say there might be more bikes than cars. 

We drove up the "S Mountain". It gave a whole view of the town  and the mountains. The camera could not capture the sight we saw from up on top of this mountain...BEAUTIFUL!!
