Benny and "I a Baby" Stories

John Story:
John is in love with the movie Sandlot. So much in fact that he has become Benny "Jet" Rodriguez. He now introduces himself to people as Benny. He is eaten up with baseball. We play everyday. Today when we went to Jenna's birthday party, he introduced himself as Benny and told everyone that his feet were growing so he needed to get new shoes.

Sophia Story:
I couldn't find my Kindle this afternoon. We have a rule that John can play on it but he can't get up and walk around with it. Well he did that today and couldn't remember where he had put it. We tore about the living room but still couldn't find it. I asked Sophia if she had seen it. She said "I don't know...I a baby." Guess where the Kindle was...in her room on her book shelf! She totally tried to get out of it by claiming that she was a baby!!

My Husband

I don't blog about my husband much. Normally I just blog about the kids and what new things they are doing. I honestly don't blog much about myself. So this blog will be different.

In March, I found out that I am being promoted and moving to a new building in August. It is an exciting adventure that I am getting to take. Each year I seem to say that I can't believe how quickly things are moving for me...and it remains true.
Every morning I wake up at 5:30. This is not to take 2 hours to get dressed, but to just sit, read the Word and drink a cup of coffee before anyone arises in my house. Almost every morning as I sit and drink my coffee, I think, "Why God? How have I become so blessed? What have I done to deserve this?" You see...I am not a "follow througher". I am what you would call a 'quick start' kind of person. I love getting a new idea and starting it but the follow through part is hard. The reason I am telling you this is because I often sit and talk to God and think...I don't read my Bible every day, I don't finish books (unless they are a murder mystery), and I don't pray everyday. Often times I sit in wonder and amazement that I have a God that loves me so much and is so forgiving. I have a God that will patiently wait for me, knowing each time I will come back to Him. Because I can honestly say that I would never get through my day without Him. He gives me the strength and energy each day to do what I do. Sometimes I think "I wonder if this is really God's plan for me? Am I taking it into my own hands and doing the wrong thing?" Each time I think this, something comes up to show me that this is a God thing and I am living it each day. I am so blessed.
Okay so after that tangent...I am going to talk about my sweet husband. Matt surprised me with a weekend get away to Hermann, MO to say congrats for getting a promotion. I had been to Hermann a couple of times but never to stay the night and explore the town. We stayed at a cute bed and breakfast called the Carriage House. Which had homemade chocolate cheesecake waiting for us in the fridge! We visited wineries and ate wonderful food. The best meal was our breakfast. It was to DIE for!! Mrs. Caty, the owner of the bed and breakfast, asked when we arrived what we would like to eat. She gave us a list of crepes, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, french toast...and the list went on. I wanted crepes and Matt wanted biscuits and gravy. So the next morning we showed up and we each had both. It was so amazing but so much food. I hated leaving any on the plate but I just couldn't eat anymore.
The best part of the whole trip was just hanging out with my sweetheart. We laughed, talked, and rested together. Sometimes with the kiddos it is hard to find time to just spend with one another. Even after we have put the kids to bed...we are often so tired, it isn't much of a conversation.
My husband does so much for me and often times I forget to say thank you. With my new job, he has had to be more flexible and help with the kids even more than he already did. I love him and I appreciate him so much.
I am one blessed lady...thank you Lord.

Sophia

Tonight Matt was getting Sophia ready for bed on our bed. After he got our pjs on, she crawled up and got under our covers. She stated, "I sleep here tonight." and she pretended to go to sleep. Matt said, "I don't think so." Sophia simply stated, "Yup."

Easter Egg Dying

Easter quickly approached us and I quickly realized that we were running out of days to color eggs, especially since Matt and I were going to be out of town the Friday and Saturday before Easter. So we decided to do it at 7:50 one evening. One good thing...it was a very quick egg coloring. One bad thing...it ended in tears with one of our children. But it made a memory and we had pretty eggs by the end. A few cracks here and there but they were pretty.
